Masheed Leads Construction of Sur Front Development Shaping Sur’s New Commercial and Tourism Landmark
Sur, Oman – March 2026 – Masheed Engineering and Contracting (MEC) has commenced construction on the Sur Front Development, a transformative hospitality, entertainment, and mixed-use masterplan set to redefine the city of Sur as a regional tourism and commercial destination.
Developed by Amjaad Group through its subsidiary Sur Front Company, the project is strategically located in the heart of Sur’s new city centre, adjacent to the city’s upcoming public park, and spans a total masterplan area of 195,000 sqm, with Phase One covering 50,000 sqm. Sur Front is envisioned as a fully integrated waterfront-style destination, blending hospitality, retail, entertainment, residential, and office spaces into a vibrant, cohesive urban environment.
Phase One – Hospitality and Entertainment:
The first phase, currently under Masheed’s construction management, will feature a four-star hotel development comprising hotel rooms, serviced apartments, and chalets, alongside a water entertainment center, outdoor recreational areas, playgrounds, and a multi-purpose hall. The project aims to provide residents and visitors with world-class leisure, lifestyle, and tourism experiences, establishing Sur as a premier destination for domestic and regional travelers.
Phases Two and Three:
- Phase Two: Retail and indoor entertainment zone, creating a modern shopping and leisure experience.
- Phase Three: Residential, office, and complementary services, integrating work, living, and social spaces into a cohesive urban hub.
